Custom Wavefront LASIK

Operating at 400 hetz, the Alcon WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q system is the newest, fastest, and safest excimer laser available today. Designed to increase patient comfort, this system allows Dr. Ida Alul and Dr. Patricia Buehler to safely and effectively perform LASIK and PRK surgeries in the comfort of our local office.

This system utilizes highly advanced digital analysis software that takes constant wave light images of your eye. These measurements are projected back to our surgeons during your procedure to ensure absolute precision and optimal results.

The WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q system was designed to preserve the natural shape of your cornea. During your surgery, eye tissue is removed without damaging your cornea’s natural contours. This provides a much lower risk of complications and a greatly reduces recovery time. Additionally, because this system treats a large area of your eye, common side effects of refractive surgery like glare and haloes are substantially reduced.

The WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q was designed to account for the small eye movements that patients will have during surgery. It has a high-speed eye tracking system that tracks your eye several times per second to ensure that each laser pulse reaches the eye in the exact proper position.  The laser tracker follows your eyes during small movements.  If your eye moves out of the range of the laser, it will pause, and then restart once you are properly aligned.

Bladeless LASIK

The Ziemer Femto LDV bladeless laser system is a remarkable advancement in laser vision correction technology. It uses rapid, ultra-short pulses of low-energy laser light to create a flap for LASIK surgery. To minimize any thermal effects, the duration of each pulse is in the femtosecond range, which requires extremely advanced technology. A femtosecond is one quadrillionth of a second, or one millionth of a nanosecond.

With its state-of-the art laser technology, the Ziemer Femto LDV laser system offers exceptional precision and excellent results while using a much less intense laser beam than other LASIK surgery systems. Using a low-energy laser beam eliminates the risks associated with high-energy pulses, such as tissue damage and diffuse lamellar keratitis. The Ziemer Femto LDV laser allows our surgeons to provide bladeless LASIK surgery with faster healing and visual recovery.

Our board-certified eye surgeons take every care necessary to ensure your procedure is as safe and effective as possible. We will work closely with you to address any concerns or questions you may have prior to your surgery.
